ISI Fund 2021-2022 Snapshot
The Indigenous Strategic Initiatives (ISI) Fund helped support initiatives in a variety of units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver to support the effectual implementation of the Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP) at all levels.


In total, 37 projects were funded across 16 units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.
A total of $3.4 million dollars was distributed to 37 projects across 16 units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.
Funding Recipients
In the 2021-22 cycle, recipients included, faculty, staff, and students at both UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan.

2021-2022 Funded Projects Across Campuses
Funding for the Innovative, Transformative, and Student-led streams was distributed across the UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver campuses, and six projects are spearheaded by project teams located at both campuses.

2021-2022 Application to Funding Process
The ISI Fund supports implementation of the ISP. Funds were available to support projects that advance UBC’s ISP priority actions across both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. 37 projects received funding in the 2021-22 cycle across three streams: Innovative, Transformative, and Student-led projects.

40% of applications to the Innovative stream received funding.
52% of applications to the Transformative stream received funding.
39% of applications to the Student-led stream received funding.
