Funding Distribution

The ISI Fund helped support initiatives in a variety of units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver to support the effectual implementation of the ISP at all levels.

In total, 37 projects were funded across sixteen units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.
3.4 million dollars was distributed to 37 projects across sixteen units and Faculties at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.

Funding Recipients

In the 2021-22 cycle, recipients included, faculty, staff, and students at both UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan.

2021-2022 Funded Projects Across Campuses

Funding for the Innovative, Transformative, and Student-led streams was distributed across the UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver campuses, and six projects are spearheaded by project teams located at both campuses.

2021-2022 Application to Funding Process

The Indigenous Strategic Initiatives (ISI) Fund supports implementation of the Indigenous Strategic Plan. Funds were available to support projects that advance UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan priority actions across both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. 37 projects received funding in the 2021-22 cycle across three streams: Innovative, Transformative, and Student-led projects.

40% of applications to the Innovative stream received funding.
52% of applications to the Transformative stream received funding.
39% of applications to the Student-led stream received funding.
