Funding Streams

Indigenous Strategic Initiatives (ISI) funding is allocated across three streams. Streams 1 and 2 funds are available to staff, faculty and post-doc-led projects. Stream 3 is available for student-led projects. A comprehensive overview of each funding stream is available here.

Stream 1 and 2 applicants are required to have completed the ISP Self-Assessment Tool at the Letter of Intent stage.

Stream 1: Innovative Projects

Stream 1 provides funding for existing projects or seed funding for new initiatives that advance the Faculty or unit’s Indigenous strategy, achievement and enhancement goals and advance any of the 43 Actions of the Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP). Innovative projects will have an impact at the department, unit or Faculty level with the potential to scale beyond the unit in the future. Cost-shared initiatives are welcomed. Eligible applicants are staff, faculty members and post-docs at either UBC campus.
